First off, I am not tracing anything. I simply want to create a layout dxl column that will merge 2 attributes from within the module.
I have a test case attribute column, and a multistep column that I'd like to merge. Separately, they'd look like
col1 col2
12345 +
merged I'd like them to look like
12345+
in the same column.
I've looked at lifting code from the appropriate section of a trace layout column
/////////
s = probeRichAttr_(othero,"Test Case ID", false)
disp = disp s
s = probeRichAttr_(othero,"Multistep", false)
disp = disp " " s
displayRich("\\pard " disp)
/////////
but instead of doing a trace and showing it I'd like to do it from within a module

display probeAttr_(obj, "First attribute") probeAttr_(obj, "Second Attribute")
is the most simple solution. Note that "obj" is predefined in layout DXL and gives a handle to each respective Object.
